Today, I’m sharing a Halloween treat bag idea with removable bookmarks. As I mentioned in a previous post, my son likes to have a different bookmark for each genre of book he reads. I thought this would be a fun gift for some of his close friends. If I get around to it, perhaps I’ll make one for each of his classmates.

I used the Deco Bag die for the treat bag, along with papers cut from Authentique’s Spirited and My Mind’s Eye Frightful 6×6 paper pads.

I love that you can see both sides of the patterned paper when using the Deco Bag die! This die is big enough to hold a gift card, photo or small candy bar so it’s extremely versatile.

I used the smallest of the Bookmarks dies on the backs of the die cut images. I used the witch from Halloweenies (Halloweenies dies), the pumpkin, stem, leaf and spider from Halloween Icons, stitched lines from Stitched; and jar from Crystal Clear (Crystal Clear 1 and 2 dies).

Depending on the size of the treat you include in the bag, you can either hang the bookmarks on the front of the Deco Bag or the back of it. Hanging them in the front will display them prominently, whereas hanging them on the back will create a cute peek-a-boo effect.
My son loved these so much, especially the jar with the spiders. He immediately put it to use in his current book, Geronimo Stilton: The Hunt for the Golden Book. It involves a lake monster so the spiders are appropriate. 😉

Even though I just bought him 28 books in the September Scholastic order, he insisted on buying Ultimate Sticker Collection: LEGO Spooky! at the book fair yesterday. He put the witch bookmark in that one. It looks like these bookmarks will get a lot of use!
