I’ve completely lost track of the days! Last Thursday night, we discovered a leak in the master bedroom. It’s been stressful ever since then, trying not to freak out about it, and also getting roofers, contractors and masons in for estimates and opinions. Unfortunately, we’ve had a couple days of straight rain so we’ve had to pierce water bubbles travelling on the inside of the wall and duct tape towels to the wall to contain the water until the work can be done next week. Our house is less than a foot from the other house so no work can be done from the outside. Both houses were bricked from the inside at the same time 85 years ago. That means our work has been done from the inside which means they have to tear out the wall and we lose our room for a few days. I hope it goes smoothly and they don’t have to completely rebuild the wall and/or have to rip out the chimney to do the repairs. Anyway, things will be insane here next week so I guess I better work ahead on crafty stuff!
It’s Wednesday and that means I have another Paper Smooches video for you! Some of you have expressed an interest in start-to-finish videos where I show my creative process. This video is all that and more. I didn’t know how my tag would turn out when I started. There was a lot of thinking and moving things around. I even coloured and used washi tape on the fly! At the 6:30 point, I lose control of the lid for my ink pad so go ahead and laugh. I nearly busted a gut keeping quiet. 😉 I hope you will be inspired to make tags from things that aren’t traditionally sold as tags.
Thanks so much for watching!

This is massively cute, Em! I adore the bone on nose. 😀 All this when your house is giving you such grief, too. At least you were able to laugh at yourself (silently) while you made this!
too cute! this makes me smile! love seeing the process of you creating this tag, too. thanks so much for the video! =)
GAH on the house repairs…water bubbles coming down the wall? Yikes. And of course the weather can't possibly cooperate with you. Sheesh. I hope it ends up being the easiest solution when they finally get to it!
