Wow, I am really behind on my blogging! I have so much to share with you but not enough time. Isn’t that a familiar story? 😉 Do you remember the card I made in haste for my Mom’s birthday last month? I ended up making another one in 30 minutes for my Dad’s birthday last week right before they arrived at my house for his birthday lunch. I keep putting myself in these last-minute card making situations. I ought to stop that doing that. It’s entirely too stressful, especially since I was the one who had to do the cooking this time! Since my Paper Smooches stamps were sitting out, I threw a bunch of stamps together based on the fact that my Dad loves bright, happy colours and he always asks for salmon steaks to be part of his birthday meal. The fish is from Birthday Buddies, the splash droplets are from Surf & Turf, the sentiment is made up of two sentiments from Word Up and Chit Chat, and the waves are the wind from this month’s Eco Friendly release! Since it’s a one-layer, I couldn’t resist embellishing it with Stickles which I let dry while we enjoyed lunch. My Dad loved the card and said it was really beautiful. 🙂

  1. This is so adorable Emily! I'm sure your Dad LOVES it!! Love the bright colors and the fish swimming over the waves! Going to pin this to my Pinterest favorites 🙂

  2. it IS beautiful, Emily, love the stickles and the little gem on the salmon's birthday hat. Sometimes the stress of limited time leads to great creativity…but not recommended long-term if you want to avoid stomach ulcers!

  3. It kills me that this is a "thrown together in 30 minutes" card. It's awesome and I love the touches of Stickles! And the fishy looks pretty happy for someone who's about to be lunch…

  4. your Dad is going to love it…That just goes to show you that you are just so talented…your ideas are always great no matter how much time you spend on them….. I think it is adorable…

  5. Such a sweet card- especially given the time crunch! Love that you stickled it up a bit- a girl after my own heart 🙂 Hope your Dad had a nice birthday 🙂

  6. So cute Emily! Your not the only one who puts yourself in the last minute card making situations! :> Last week I was tieing twine bows in the car on the way to skating lessons on a card set gift I needed that night! Glad your dad liked it! :>

  7. It's clear that you work well under pressure though Emily but perhaps it's not great for the blood pressure! I love your card – especially the multi coloured sentiment and those fabulous waves with just the right amount of glitter.

  8. Such a sweet one-layer card, Emily! So glad your dad loved it–it's a keeper ;). I'm always amazed by how well you can combine SOoooooo many PS sets for a single card. You are fantastic!!

  9. So now I'm picturing you eating this cheerful little goldfish for lunch….not much of a party for HIM! lol
I love the multicoloured sentiment, and the poor doomed little party fish 😉 AND that your dad loved it – that's the best part!

  10. Hi Emily! Well done, for making a such a fabulous 30min card!! So happy that your dad loved it too. It's a great card, and I love the bright colours for the sentiment and the waves & fish look wonderful. Have a happy weekend!!

  11. I'm so glad your dad liked his card! I hear you on the last minute cards–mine always turn out so sucky (especially if they need to be masculine). Your card turned out super cute, though! I love how you did the sentiment in different colors! Because of your card, I heard a monologue about the colors of salmon and how they change. Thanks, Em 😉
