Sure I love bikes but my first love is pandas. So when Hero Arts came out with Brilliant!, it was a given that I would get it, even if it was just for that teeny tiny panda on top of the pencil. I was smiling the whole time I stamped and fussy cut all the pandas. I mean, how could I not! 😀 I knew this card would make my son smile, just like these pandas, so it was going to make a great birthday card for him. It’s also perfect for the Hero Arts August Contest.

If I had a camera built into my eyes, I could’ve captured the bright-eyed bushy-tailed smile my son had on his face when he first laid eyes on this card. Of course, he totally squealed, pointed at the pandas in the bus and said, “Three pandas and one driver!” Then he pointed at the pandas on the left and said, “Three more pandas jump up and down!” all the while squealing some more. Then he remarked, “How all pandas fit on bus?” I don’t know if I can take so much cuteness. LOL

First, I die cut the grass and adhered it to the back of the road strip. Then I adhered both to the sky. I fussy cut all the pandas, cut the windows out of the bus and adhered the pandas to the inside of the bus. Finally, I popped everything on to the background with foam tape, stamped the sentiment from Sending Smiles Message and adhered the entire front to the card base. On the inside, I stamped ‘Happy Birthday’ from the same set. The bus and grass papers are from Basic Grey’s Out of Print collection, the sky background is from Basic Grey’s Oxford collection, the road is from Cosmo Cricket’s Joy Ride collection and red paper for the stop sign is from Echo Park’s Metropolitan collection. I love playing around with patterned paper these days! Does it show?

Hero Arts, if you’re reading this, please make this teeny tiny panda into a full-size wood stamp. I’d also love to see a full clear set of pandas being busy. 😉

  4. This is one seriously adorable card, Em! I was sure you'd made the background with inks, but it's an awesome patterned paper, as are all the ones you used! And the pandas are unbelievably cute, especially the one with his ear sticking out the back window. And it's always good when you can get such a reaction out of someone who, after all, gets to see ALL your cards. 😀

  5. Your comment about buying this set for the little panda really cracked me up 🙂 There are so many sets that I see one tiny thing, but the rest is not so appealing. What a fun card- love the pandas peeking out of the bus windows! What fun to have your little boy so excited for it as well 🙂 I loved that age…*sigh*
