You have great taste. Whether you’re talking fashion or monsters trying out different looks, it’s a great line, right? I got some new Paper Smooches in the mail today and I just had to ink them up. This is probably the fastest I’ve ever inked up new stamps! To be honest, I bought Vegtastic for the sole purpose of using the leaves on the vegetables as hats/toupees/wigs for the monster from Falling for You. I know, I’m a little weird that way. πŸ˜‰ I didn’t buy Sugar Rush for that reason but the top of the cupcake looks like a shower cap, doesn’t it? I can’t stop giggling over that one. What I loved most about trying out these different looks on the monsters is that the little indentations of the ‘tops’ fit so well between the horns that it was almost meant to be! I used the white, pink, sunshine and chocolate colour combination from the Paper Smooches July Sparks Challenge. This challenge is so much fun and the prizes are amazing. You should play along!

I hope you’re having a much better week than I am! Between the protests and overnight construction, I’m struggling to stay sane. All I can do is look forward to the peace and quiet I’ll have in 38 days!! See you Thursday for an exciting announcement. πŸ™‚

  2. Oh my goodness! I fell in love with your little monsters with their shower cap, veggie wigs. heee heee. I love that you saw these stamps and used them for something completely different. Way to be creative. Thanks for sharing the info on the stamps and the challenge blog. These are both new to me so I'm hoppin' over to check them out. 3. OK Emily- my ban on purchasing in the month of July is almost over, and as soon as it is I am buying the monster set from Paper Smooches πŸ™‚
Your creativity never ceases to amaze me- they are too darned cute with "hair"!!

  4. I am LMAO!!! You may call it weird but I think this is absolutely brilliant! Even Luis just walked in and cracked up at them. πŸ™‚ The Elvis-esque one is my fave.

  5. This is off the charts awesome!! so so cute paper piecing and what lovely hats!! I'm still grinning!!

Waiting for the lovely news!!hmmm what can it be?
There's a baby boom going on around here (not me)..maybe I'll hope that this baby boom jumped from India to Canada!! (ROFL)

  6. Oh, wauw, Emily, this is truly weird and wonderful, ha ha!!! Love their hair this way, ha ha!!! And you even changed the monster to make them more diverse! Dear friend, you are number 1 in making cards like this!!! Love, love, love it!!! Thanks for your comments on my cards as well, you inspire me!! Hope you will have better days again soon! To not be able to sleep well is terrible, it ruins your day! all the best to you!

  8. I don't know how you can look at vegetables and see toupees, but I'm glad you can! I love the look, especially the one on the right.

Hope you get at least some sleep in the next 38 days!

  9. So stinkin' clever! Your ideas totally keep me on my toes. But what I really want to try is that twine/sentiment treatment. It's fantabulous! (See, I have to come up with entirely new adjectives to describe your work.)

  10. Could this card be any cuter? Seriously it made me laugh! I love it! Love the sentiment with all those hats! Tee hee! So sorry your hardly getting sleep. That really sucks! I feel for you! And way to make me so curious for tomorrow!

  11. It's good you explained the sentiment related to their fashion choices… I thought maybe they were people-eating (although extremely cute) monsters commenting on someone's good taste! πŸ˜€ Awesome card — love all the paper-piecing. (What protests? About the Fords?)

  12. How did I miss this?? Absolutely adorable!! You have such a creative eye–love those HATS! I'll be looking at my stamps in a whole new light….thanks for the inspiration!!

  13. I'm wondering about the protests too – although I'm guessing that there are way more in TO than make it to the national news. As for construction, I hear ya. It's never fun to be close to THAT noise.
Love the sentiment/twine treatment (it is totally fantabulous!) and those awesome rugs. Buddy on the left should talk to The Donald about it.

  14. When I saw the card that had won the Sparks Challenge over at Paper Smooches, I just couldn't help smiling! This is SUPER SUPER CUTE and I absolutely love it! What a fantastic card! Congrats on your win!
