I was in a Paper Smooches groove yesterday and ended up making this card as well so I’ve linked up both to the August Guest Designer Search. This one also uses patterned paper but I love that it looks completely different. I wish I could’ve bottled that groovy moment much like when I’m at the edge of the ocean, say, in Cinque Terre, Italy, and take it out to experience again whenever I need it. Wouldn’t that be nice?
Yup, I made another 6.5″ x 3.25″ card. I love this shape! It’s my go-to shape for some reason and it’s brought me quite a bit of success while sublicating, too. 😉 All the patterned paper you see on this card is from Cosmo Cricket’s Joy Ride mini deck. A former co-worker ordered a bunch of birthday cards and I needed a few more hence the theme of this card. I hope at least one of her friends is silly. LOL I masked off the monster’s arm and part of his body so I could add two out-stretched arms. I tied little knots before attaching the strings to the heart balloons because real balloons have knots! Both the monster and ‘monster’ sentiment are from Falling For You and the ‘birthday wishes’ sentiment is from Birthday Buddies.

I'm really diggin' these tall cards. Where do you find envelopes for that size card or do you make your own?
This makes me SMILE, Emily!! For "not getting along" with patterned paper, you sure do some great paper piecing. This is fantastic!! And definitely fun. Your knotted twine makes those look like authentic balloons!
Seriously Emily…I don't think this could be any cuter!

I am rooting for you to become the next guest designer. Between this card and the last, all I can say is CUTE and creative to boot!!!
Everything about this card is perfect, but the first thing I noticed is that striped paper — to me, it's what sends the whole card over the top! And really, he must be the cutest monster ever. Especially offering balloons. 😀
way tooo stinkin' cute girl.
wow Emily! I love your two cards very much! On your Halloween one I love the branch and the houses on the pattern paper. Seems like you should use more pattern paper 'cause you're rocking it! 🙂 And on today's card I love your little guy and the balloons! Great idea, the twine!! 🙂
EEK! Now this card is so super adorable, too, I don't know which is my favorite! I just want to love on that little happy monster!
If she doesn't have at least one silly friend, then I feel terrible for her. Everyone should have at least one total goofball in their life. Love this card – especially how you've added the patterned paper to set off the sentiment. Awesome 🙂
