Thank you so much for the uplifting comments that were left on yesterday’s post. I asked my friend to read your comments and she was extremely touched. I couldn’t ask for better friends in all of you!
Today’s card is for my father-in-law who had a stroke on Sunday. So far the only thing that’s impaired is his speech but hopefully the therapist will get that going again quickly. Obviously, we’re all very worried since his health really suffered last year. I cut into my Echo Park Little Boy papers to make a quick card that is relatively flat for easy mailing. The papers have a teeny bit of distressing on them which is really cool. I used the frame from Unity’s Melody Ross set Domestic Bliss and a sentiment from the January 2011 Kit of the Month, To the Moon & Back, which has the best and most versatile sentiments.
I hope you’re all having a happy and crafty week! Tomorrow, I will have a BIG post featuring my April project for The Twinery and Unity‘s Friends With Flair blog hop. 🙂

Emily, I'm sorry to hear the news about your father-in-law. Hoping that he lives close by to you and your hubby so that you are able to encourage him as he recovers. It is so hard to watch our parents age. Sending lots of prayers. I'm sure he will really appreciate your card.
hate that you needed to do this card and i hope it brings him comfort, emily…prayers to your family:)
What great colors, Emily!! I ADORE that frame–you did some tricky cutting on that. It looks awesome! I love seeing mailable cards (read: flat) that have so much panache. 🙂
What a fab card, Emily. I am sorry to hear about your FIL. I hope that with the help of therapy, he recovers soon. Strokes are tricky and can be frustrating as you work down the road of recovery. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.
Hugs!
Emily

Ooooh…so pretty and I love when it turns out I have the stamp! Today, in fact it came in the mail…so thanks for the inspiration. I hope your father-in-law recuperates in short order…

Your poor father-in-law. It must be very frightening to have a stroke and I hope he makes a full recovery.
Your card is just the kind of style I love and the colours are brilliant.
Gorgeous card! I love your use of white space with the pop of blue and orange.
I hope you FIL is fully recovers soon.
Thank you for your sweet comment on my blog. I used a couple of tutorials to figure out how to do the spotty background. Here are the links:
