I’m back with another Hope You Can Cling To challenge card and this time it’s for HYCCT06: Somekinda Hope which is to use something old and something new! I used a musical note background which I’ve had for several years and both the bird image and sentiment are new. I thought I finished this card on Thursday but it didn’t have a sentiment on it and it looked rather plain to me. I wanted to redo the centre with the notes around the bird instead of on the blue card base. Last night, I decided that this sentiment, which was another one of my freebies when I joined Unity’s Kit Club, was the perfect addition. If you click on the close up photo, you can see the silver glitter I added to the dots on the branch.

It was a perfect fall day yesterday and we went to the Toronto Zoo for some family fun. Our son had a blast, especially when he saw all the animals from his books. Most of the big cats were sleeping and he shouted at them, “Meow-meow, wake up! Wake up!” He really cracks us up. All the other parents chuckled, too. Tonight is the big Thanksgiving dinner at my parents’ house. I hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend!

  1. When our godson was littler, he'd say "hi woof-woof" to every dog and dog-like animal 🙂 Sounds like the zoo was fun! Have a good T-giving dinner too.
Oh, and cute card. Of course! I love that the main image is mounted behind the card front.

  2. Whoa, is this an Emily card? With a BLUE base? I'm not sure if I'm on the right blog, but I sure do like the card! The way you used the sentiment is perfect!

Glad you had a great day at the zoo and hope you have a great Thanksgiving!

  3. Gorgeous, Emily! I love that image – and I love those little silver dots! The sentiment is perfect for the card. Such a beautiful background too with the music notes. Sounds like your son had a great time at the zoo!
