I’m thrilled to be hopping along with Scrap ‘n Stamp Canada to celebrate crafty memories in lieu of National Scrapbooking Day! You should’ve come from Lindsey’s blog but if you just happened upon the hop, head over to the Scrap ‘n Stamp blog to begin. There’s loads of inspiration across all social media platforms and you can comment for your chance to win a $50 gift certificate to the shop. There’s also a weekend sale and you can save 30-50% on select items.

I’ve made a few layouts in my time as a papercrafter but I don’t (really) scrapbook in general so I decided to make a snarky crafty card for a friend. The layout I used goes back to my days of using a lot more patterned paper to make scrapbook-style cards with lots of paper layers.

The base layer was cut from Hero Arts Pebble cardstock and heat foiled it using Speckled Prism Hot Foil and the Spellbinders Diagonal Stripes Hot Foil Plate. This is an amazing must-have product! I added a piece of Coral cardstock for a pop of colour and I love it with the coloured images from several Taylored Expressions sets, including Crafty Stamp & Die Combo, Do Something Creative, Max & Millie and Simple Strips – Snarky.

I used Copic markers to colour all the images but the list is too long so you can check out the list HERE if you’re interested in seeing all the colours I used. After colouring the background and stamping the main sentiment, I die cut the cat, mouse, cup, cat-made cards and additional sentiment strip so I could add dimension with glue dots and foam tape.

I trimmed down the coloured panel and tucked a piece of patterned paper from Honey Bee Stamps Back To Basics 6×6 Paper Pad, then used a tape runner to attach all the layers to the card base. I hope you enjoyed my scrappy-style card and I’d love to see your version should you be inspired by it!

Be sure to check out the National Scrapbooking Day Sale HERE for great deals and head to Kia’s blog to continue the hop.

Thanks so much for hopping along!

  1. Emily, that sentiment is me to a 't' (as is the cat's expression LOL), although that crafting space is a zillion times more organized than mine is! An awesome, smile-making card in every way!
