I used this week’s CAS69 Hero theme to make a birthday card for my father-in-law who served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. His older brother was killed in action as a U.S. Marine in World War II so it must’ve been truly disheartening for his parents to have their sole surviving son to go off to war as well. Luckily he came back and is still with us today. A man who ran his own home renovations business for 30 years before retiring, my father-in-law was a truly do-it-yourself man and my husband learned much from his Dad. This card is for a great man who continues to be a hero to his sons.
