Yesterday, I was so delighted to learn that I won Jodi’s Geometry Challenge over at Pink Cat Studio! When I found out, I did a little barnyard dance with my son and we couldn’t stop smiling. Then I celebrated a little more with a big bowl of ice cream. LOL It’s a very proud moment for me since I’m so new to the stamping community and it only drives me to continue creating and hopefully inspire others. I’m very honoured to be recognized this early on. Thank you to the PCS design team for choosing my card and to my fellow contestants for your inspiration, too! I’m also very excited about the new release of sporty Billy stamps next Wednesday. Sneak peeks start Monday on the PCS blog! You can also enter for a chance to win the new set by adding this blinkie to your blog.
This brings me to today’s card which I made for a colleague’s upcoming baby shower. Even though I’m currently on a one-year maternity leave, I like to drop by the office every week or two with my little guy to say hello to everyone. I really miss the social aspect of being at work! Another colleague ordered matching birthday cards for her stylin’ twin sisters and I started working on them but ran into a creative rut so I put those aside and made this baby card. The idea for this card actually popped into my head while I was putting my son down for a nap. I didn’t end up making it the way I imagined with a ‘baby boy’ sign hanging from the bottles but it’s a nice variation. I really wanted to use a wider alphabet ribbon from Urban Scrapyard but, as hard as I tried, I couldn’t tie a decent bow with it. I punched out the stars from the same background paper so the colours would match perfectly. Since the stars are randomly placed, the blue bow completes the bottom opening nicely.
Congrats! I your winning creation over on the PCS blog and just had to come over and congratulate you!!!! Woo hoo!
so darling!
