It’s Release Day over at Catherine Pooler and we’re celebrating the Refreshed Ink colours, plus the new Global Adventure Part Deux Collection! We’re celebrating with an Instagram Hop and someone is going to WIN a $50 gift certificate! While appreciated, comments left here will not qualify. You must comment on Instagram.
I must admit, when I first heard that Mint To Be and Sweet Sixteen were retiring, I was in a panic! They’ve been two of my favourite and most used colours for a long time. I pretty much want to use Mint To Be on every card! Now that I have Minted and Sixteen Candles, I don’t mind so much. Then again, I wouldn’t mind if the old colours lived forever, too. LOL

I stamped each of the lanterns from the Lantern Festival stamp set in each of the new colours — Minted, Oh, Boy! and Sixteen Candles — then die cut the flowers from two of them using the coordinating Lantern Festival Dies. Next, I die cut the frame pieces using the Scallops & Dots Dies, adding two layers to the scalloped section so it’s a bit higher than the base where the sentiment is stamped.

After I determined the placement of my lanterns, I stamped the flowers in the cutouts. I added a second layer of cardstock to each of the lanterns for a bit of dimension; foam tape would’ve been too high. After stamping the sentiment and die cutting the strings and tassels, I adhered everything to the card base using Bearly Art liquid glue. To finish, I stamped a few whimsical stars from the Nice List stamp set in MintedOh, Boy! and Sixteen Candles, and embellished the flowers with white pearls.
