Have you seen the new Create-in-Quads Layering Stencils from Taylored Expressions? They’re 8″ x 10.5″ stencils that make four card panels all at once and they’re amazing! The original Create-in-Quads: Mistletoe layering stencils were released in September and now we have the Create-in-Quads: Snowflake!
The Create-in-Quads: Snowflake stencils create four 4″ x 5.25″ panels that are ready to adhere to A2 card bases. You can also use dies to create frames and other textures to these panels before assembling them on the card bases.
Each quad has a different layout of snowflakes: (a) the first one fills the panel, (b) the second one covers half the panel on a diagonal, (c) the third one covers the top and bottom thirds and (d) the fourth one is a large, clean and simple snowflake.
As always, my favourite part of cardmaking is choosing colour combinations and these stencils make it extra fun. Depending on the order of your colours, the result of these stencilled snowflakes will look very different so it will be a lot of fun to experiment with not only different colour combinations but also switching up the order of stencilling.
After the stencilling was done and the panels cut, I created card bases using the coordinating cardstock for the same four ink colours: Peaches ‘n Cream, Pumpkin, Honey and Spearmint.
I used the same four cardstock colours to heat emboss sentiments from Winter Blessings using Sugar Cube pigment ink. Then I used the coordinating Winter Blessings Dies to cut the stamped sentiments and a second piece from gold glitter cardstock. To finish, I embellished a couple of the cards with a few Gold Drip Drops.
Thanks so much for watching!
