Happy Earth Day! It’s been a while since I made an Earth Day card even though I plan to every year since I love map and planet stamps. It’s also been a long time since I made a card “just because” and had fun mixing products from different companies.

This one features the Origami Map stamp set and coordinating die from Neat & Tangled. It’s still one of my favourite map sets ever. I heat embossed it on watercolour cardstock and I used ink daubers and distress inks to add colour to the map. Then I used an A2 Circle Stax die from My Favorite Things to cut both the map and the circle behind it.

To create the texture on the front panel, I cut a 4″ x 5.5″ panel from white linen cardstock and used the Platinum 6 to dry emboss the Play the Angle Stencil from Taylored Expressions. It gives the coolest look and coordinates with the angles of the Origami Map quite well. This is one of my favourite ways to use stencils and increases the versatility of your stencils.
Before assembling the card, I trimmed a piece of 0.25″ x 5.5″ Black & White Stripes from My Favorite Things and adhered it to the card base. After attaching the dry embossed panel, I attached the circle with Scor-tape and popped up the map with foam tape.

I heat embossed a sentiment from Origami Map and die cut it using the Mini Strips Die from Taylored Expressions. I secured it to the map using Scor-tape. Then I use a jewel picker and liquid glue to embellish the card with iridescent bubbles.
I hope you join me in celebrating Earth Day by leaving the car at home, making an effort to conserve natural resources, do your best to recycle and compost as much as possible, and be active every day in the great outdoors. Our planet needs us to do better and together we can make a difference!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
