I’m so excited to be guesting for My Favorite ThingsWednesday Sketch Challenge this month! This week, we’re kicking things off with a simple sketch that can be interpreted creatively in so many ways. I didn’t have a tag die of a similar shape so I thought outside the box while looking at my die-namics shapes and the brand new June 2018 Release.

I started by creating a background with partially die cut words using Die-namics Wow. I used bits of foam tape at the top of each word before adhering it to the card base so they would stay popped up.

I laughed so hard when I saw the ‘ConCRABulations’ sentiment from Just Beclaws so I knew I wanted to feature that set. To set the scene for the cute crabs, I used distress inks to create the sky and sandy beach on watercolour cardstock before misting with water and die cutting the Precious Polaroids.

I offset the insides of the frames, as well as the frames themselves, when adhering them to the ‘WOW’ background for added visual interest. To finish, I stamped the sentiment on one of the Stitched Sentiment Strips and attached it to the card.

I hope you’ll play along with us this week! Simply link up your creations HERE for a chance to win a $50 gift voucher to spend at the My Favorite Things store.

  1. I've never seen a partial cut die as a background before, and I love the idea, especially popped up like that! Brilliant! Hilarious crabby card!
