Release Day post, please click HERE.

Altenew has unveiled another Build-A-Flower set today and this month’s Morning Glory is brilliant! In fact, my husband raved about these blooms and he rarely says that much about any card I make so that officially means this the best Build-A-Flower set yet. Oh, and his mom is getting this card for Mother’s Day. 😉

Morning Glories come in a variety of colours but the most common ones are deep pink, violet and royal blue. I chose the Rose Petal, Shades of Purple and Glacier Caves oval ink sets to represent those colours and they’re represented from the top down on my card. The top two flowers are the same stamp and have four layers, which makes use of all four colours in Altenew’s ink sets.

The smaller flower is only three layers but has an attached stem and leaves, whereas the larger flower is on its own. There is separate a long stem and a single layered leaf for endless possibilities but my favourite stamp in this set is the curly vine! It adds so much to the group of flowers and is a great accent.

  1. Lovely card! I love how you layered the different sized images and the color choices are perfect. Great background color too.

  2. Emily I love these darling 'first of the day' blooms… and have had all three of these fabulous colors on one plant!
Such a gorgeous card … hope life is as beautiful for you today!

  3. Morning glories have always been one of my favorite flowers…there to greet you in the morning, there to tell you when it's time to turn out the lights and call it a day. I love that you used three colors for your cluster. Lovely card. .

  4. I love how you managed to make these look pastel. I'm not sure if it's a function of the ink colors you chose or putting them on the light grey cardstock, but this card has a gorgeous, soft look to it. Thanks for sharing!
