Altenew continues to outdo itself with each Build-A-Flower set and this month’s Hibiscus is no exception! The large blooms and broad leaves make for truly stunning cards. This 6×8 set includes one large bloom with five layers, a closed bud with six layers and a leaf with four layers. All of these layers create truly realistic-looking flowers!

These detailed flowers could be used to create the simplest of cards. I only added a very lightly sponged background with the Watercolor Stripes Stencil, using the lightest shade of ink in the Rose Petal Oval Set, which is what I used to stamp the hibiscus. The leaves were stamped with the Tropical Forest Oval Set, which are my favourite shades of green to wear.

The sentiment I used is a two-part sentiment and the scripted part was too long so I stamped it on two lines to fit into the space allowed by the arrangement of the flowers. I love the font, which is very similar to a few of my favourite sentiments from Thinking of You.
