It’s Day 3 of the Mama Elephant Stamp Highlights for the February Release and today the design team is featuring Origami! You may have noticed after yesterday’s highlight post that I’ve developed a bit of an addiction to watercolouring with distress inks. In part, it’s mostly the fault of this incredible watercolour cardstock by Tim Holtz and the acquisition of a new heat tool. Really, it’s a match made in heaven!

First, I die cut the cardstock using Femme Frames Creative Cuts. From that, I die cut two panels using Landscape Trio Creative Cuts. I sponged the panels with four different distress inks (see links below for specific colours), misted water on them and dried them with the heat tool.

I used the remaining piece to stamp two swans. Then I applied five different distress inks (again, see links below for specific colours) to my craft sheet and used a water brush to add colour to the stamped images. After misting the panel, I allowed the water to run the colours together a bit. Then I dried the cardstock with the heat tool.

After determining the position of the swans on the waves, I masked off the sentiment and stamped the words around the swans’ necks. To finish the card, I adhered three glittery silver stars die cut from Confetti Creative Cuts.

Please be sure to visit the rest of the design team to see what they came up with using Origami.

See you tomorrow for Day 4 of the Stamp Highlights. 🙂

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
