Welcome to Day 4 of the Hero Arts 2014 Catalog Blog Hop with the Hero Hostesses! I’m delighted to be your first stop today. You should’ve arrived from the Hero Arts Blog. Hero Arts is giving away three big prize packages and winners will be randomly drawn from all hostess blogs each day as well as the five introductory posts at the Hero Arts Blog. The more comments you leave along the way, the more chances you have to win!
My first card features the Tiny Triangles background, Spring Branch die and Good Luck sentiment set. I used the Pale Tomato, Soft Cantaloupe and Bubble Gum shadow inks.
From start-to-finish, here’s how I made the card:
In contrast to the soft and pretty card, I’d like to share a masculine version using the same Tiny Triangles background and Good Luck sentiment set.
To create this background, I die cut circles of various sizes from a piece of scrap paper. Then I inked the background with the stamp facing up, laid the scrap on top and pressed the white cardstock into it so that only the ink coming through the circles would stamp on to the cardstock.
After that, I used the die cut circles and some repositionable adhesive to hold the circles on the stamped areas and protect them from the embossing paste. Then I used the Hero Arts Numbers Background Stencil to apply metallic silver embossing paste. Once the stencil and die cut circles are removed, I end up with a funky mixed media background. After the embossing paste dries, I adhere the panel to a dark grey card base and pop on the sentiment with foam tape.
In addition to Hero Arts‘ generous giveaways, I have three of my own!
(1) This first prize consists of two Hero Arts background clings and the winner will be drawn randomly from my blog followers.
(2) This second prize consists of two Hero Arts background clings and the winner will be drawn randomly from my YouTube subscribers.
(3) This third prize consists of two Hero Arts woodblock stamps and will be drawn from all comments left on this post.
If you leave a comment here, follow my blog and are a subscriber to my YouTube Channel, that means you have three chances to win (well, four, since your comment here also qualifies for the Hero Arts giveaways)! You have until 11:59 p.m. EST on Sunday, January 26th and I will announce all three winners here on Monday, January 27th. Thanks so much for stopping by and good luck! 🙂
Your next stop is my sweet and talented friend Anita Recksiedler!
