Paper Smooches is joining forces with Scor-Pal all week long. Today, I’m thrilled to share a cute little project that I made to occupy my son. It’s a creative game I’m calling Pour & Create.
I started by making a mini milk carton using this Beate Johns tutorial and my trusty Scor-Pal which I absolutely love! It makes perfect score lines every time even after years of use. I also can’t live without Scor-Tape which is one of my must-have adhesives.
After cutting, scoring and assembling the milk carton, I die cut some blooms and monogrammed it with an ‘E’ which is really an ampersand from We Connect but I love how it looks like a scripted ‘E’ for Emily. I know my son is eventually going to change it to his initial. 😉
There are about 50 die cut pieces of various Paper Smooches stamps from Cuteasaurus, Flap Happy, We Connect, Wicked Nauticool and Woofers & Tweeters.
All I have to do is pour out a few pieces and ask my son to make up a story with them. He can also glue them on a piece of paper and draw out a scene to incorporate those pieces.
If he’s not playing LEGO or Playmobil, he’s drawing and colouring. It makes me so happy to watch him create and then tell me a story.
Both Paper Smooches and Scor-Pal are giving away prizes so be sure to check these two blogs every day, today through Friday, May 31st.

Brilliant make!! What a clever mum you are Emily! Your son will go from strength to strength, it's so good to be able to formulate the order of a story and imagination is so important too, what fun you are going to have! Hugs Gay x
Really cute idea!!
Oh my, Emily – not only is this a gorgeous project, combining PS and Scor-Pal, but the concept behind it is BRILLIANT! What an amazing mom you are, encouraging, supporting and engaging your son in developing his creativity and imagination. The ability to 'tell stories' is such an important skill to develop, and your son is well on his way to learning to do so. WOW! Impressive, enlightening and FANTASTIC!

What a great idea! I just may have to CASE it for my DD.
seriously girl – you are beyond amazing!!!
Great idea. It shows your son that you can play with simple things – they don't have to be fancy and expensive. It gives him a chance to use his imagination. And it shows him that mom loves him enough to make up a fun game for him.

What a fun and cute idea! I have a little girl who loves dinosaurs so this would be a great idea for her to play with when we are out and about!
What a fabulous idea Emily! I am glad you gave us the link for the carton and the knowledge to score it up so we can create the same type of game–if it's alright with you! I would love to make some of these for my nieces and nephews–of which I have many! Thanks for sharing today!
This looks like a ton of fun, Em! Knowing your son, I'm not sure why you even bothered starting with your initial. 😉
