Today, I’m featuring the Shadows stamp set. I’ve wanted a stamp set like this forever and was ecstatic when Kim agreed to make one. The single shadows from Hot Concoctions and Vogue Abode are two of my most used stamps ever so I can assure you that the Shadows set is going to be well-loved! Not to worry, it’s not just for shadows. 😉

There’s a lot of watercolouring on my card today. I had so much fun with it. First, I stamped the ground using the longest shadow in the set. I did this in two colours to simulate grass and mud. Then I used some masking paper to bury the bones in the ground. I used Ranger markers and a watercolour brush to blend everything together.

I also coloured the cat and dog, from Nine Lives and Woofers & Tweeters, respectively, using the same technique. On my card, I also used a sentiment from Wicked Nauticool, which is being showcased by Karolyn and Laurie on this hop. Be sure to check it out!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Remember to check back here on Saturday to see if you are the lucky winner of the Shadows stamp set!

  1. You buried the bones? THAT IS SO AWESOME!!! And I love how you made the puppy's paws all dirty 🙂 (BTW, our Abby? Not much for dirt digging, but she will try so hard to bury her bones in her kennel that she's rubbed her nose raw. More than once.)

  2. You used two of my current favourite sets, Em, and I have a feeling the nautical set will soon be on my wishlist! Terrific watercolouring on this, too. 🙂

  3. Aaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!
Too cute. Love animals – and especially when they give you that Pitiful Pearl look. I get a lot of that around here. Great card.

  4. Shadow stamp? I'm quite intrigued! Your card is adorable, esp. with those buried bones and dirty paws. Looking forward to the full release.
    Thank you for sharing.

  5. Cute card – these images are so sweet, and I love the vignette you came up with using the fish and bone being buried. Wonderful coloring too – didn't know you could do that with these markers. Thank you for sharing this fun card!

  6. You are just Amazing with your stamps, inks and creativity Emily. TFS this wonderful card using watercolors. I love the touch of grass green n mud effect on the doggy.

  7. Hi hi, this card is fun, Emily! Love the way the fish bones are there in the dirt!! Cool idea!! And such a fun couple here! I love these kind of PS card from your hand, it may look simple, but it takes a great mind to create a card like this, with always just THE perfect eye for details!!! LOVE IT!
    Hugs, Wendy

  8. P.S. (from Post Scriptum, not from Paper Smooches this time, hi hi) And you always make me want to buy sets that I didn't have yet, hi hi, so you're a fab ambassador there! Now these cats and doggies are on the wishlist again, ha ha! 😀
