Welcome to the Chinese New Year Blog Hop! I’m so glad you could join us. The Year of the Snake officially begins on Sunday, February 10th so be sure to wish all your Chinese friends longevity, happiness, wealth and good fortune during this two-week festival! My traditions involve getting together with family for a big meal, enjoying many sweets and exchanging red envelopes with money. Those who are married, like me, no longer receive the red envelopes so the kids will be the lucky ones this time. 😉 Now, how ’bout a few cards using the free digis created especially for this occasion?

This first card uses the cherry blossoms digi from Fresh Squeezed Stamps. I love those branches! I designed this card with my parents in mind, keeping black to a minimum. They like a lot of red and gold.

My second card uses the adorable girl from Angie Blom Designs. I smile every time I look at her and I love the handwritten sentiment! If you look closely, there are little snakes on the lanterns.

My third card features the regal Chinese New Year Rin from Sparkle Creations.  There’s amazing detail on this one and it comes with two fabulous sentiments. You will definitely want to win this stamp set!

Edited to Add:

This fourth card features the digi by Dahlhouse Designs. I fussy cut the snake from its frame and rearranged the sentiment, measuring before printing, so it would fit in the upper left hand corner of the insert. I also used the reverse side of the embossing folder used on the first card. Supplies for all cards are listed below.

Here’s who you’ll be hopping with this week for a chance to win one of five fabulous prizes listed below:

Many thanks to our digi artists and sponsors for their contribution to this blog hop. We loved using the artists’ drawings and we know you will, too. Thanks to our generous sponsors, we have so many amazing prizes to give away. And I am so fortunate to have these very talented designers participate in this hop with me. None of this would’ve been possible without all of your support and hard work.

Thank you so much for stopping by to celebrate with us! Now it’s time to head on over to Alice Wertz‘s blog!!
