Wow, I can’t believe I haven’t blogged in over a week! I’m back ’til at least the 21st when we’ll have house guests for ten days over the holidays. Then it might be ultra quiet here. Hopefully I won’t go insane with the lack of time or ability to craft!! You know how that can be, right? 😉

Today’s Jane’s Doodles cards were made with the poinsettias from Vintage Christmas and a sentiment from Big Sentiments.

I don’t heat emboss very often because it’s messy and I don’t think I’m very good at it. Maybe I’m just a messy heat embosser. 😉 When I don’t show the entire image or I can just punch out parts of it like on these two cards, I don’t mind heat embossing. I love the impact it makes and I wish I were better at it!

I haven’t mailed a single holiday card yet! Have you? I meant to stop at the post office today to buy a bunch of stamps but I forgot. The stroller was loaded with groceries and I was exhausted. I guess I should start addressing my envelopes soon or I’ll be making a lot of New Year’s cards! LOL

  1. Hi Emily! I love the clean lines of these cards. I'm a messy embosser, too. Love your idea of punching out just the best parts of the embossed design! I ended up ordering my holiday stamps online so I wouldn't have to endure lines at the post office. Don't know if you have that option in Canada, but it turned out to be a lifesaver for me here! Have a great weekend!!

  2. Don't worry Emily- you are NOT the only one lagging behind with mailing! Still working on xmas cards here!
I really like this simple design of yours- it would be easy to mass produce! (wheels are turning in my brain)
    Have a great weekend!

  3. Beautiful cards, Emily. I love the random glittery effect of the tinsel embossing powder–glad to know about this product! Yes, I fear for your sanity, too, with ten days of no me-time. Cooking for guests has SOME of the same effect as crafting, but its not the same…

  4. Love the cards, I think that you are great at embossing. I very rarely use glitter because of the mess but embossing I can control better. Hope you have a great weekend.

  5. Gorgeous! I love the squares and cut-off images.

Man, that is a long time for house guests! Maybe you can talk them into crafting with you. 🙂

  6. I love those blocks of colour Emily, the heat embossing looks great to me 🙂 I still haven't even made my cards yet….I predict a quiet blog week this week !
