Hello, cute friends. 🙂 This is my entry for the Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge using the inspiration photo shown at left. I was inspired by the colours, the ruffles (feathers) and the idea of cuteness because that’s something I just can’t resist! I also made this card for the Hope You Can Cling To Challenge HYCCT1101A: Pink Critters on Splitcoaststampers.

I used stamps from all three of the October releases from Paper Smooches: My Peeps, Hot Concoctions and Chit Chat. Isn’t the peacock the cutest? The body of the bird comes as a separate stamp, as do two feather patterns. There are other birds you can add the feathers to as well. You could leave the bird ‘naked’ and it would be a baby ostrich. Imagine the possibilities! Are you squealing yet?

I love the idea of mixing and matching sentiments using Chit Chat and I wanted ‘cute’ to stand out for obvious reasons. The spotlight is the shadow stamp from Hot Concoctions. I love that I now have a shadow stamp because I’ve always wanted one so it’s definitely going to come in handy. In the inspiration photo, I saw both blue and green so I sponged the edges with both to mirror the colours in the feathers and to tie in the sentiment with the card base. If you haven’t played in the current SPARKS Challenge yet, you still have three days! It’s worth a shot at these super cute stamps. 😉

See you Wednesday for my first post as the Paper Smooches Guest Designer for October. I’m super excited to be joining the Paper Smooches team this month and sweet, sweet Kim has granted me a giveaway so be sure to visit every Wednesday this month!
