It’s my day on the Jane’s Doodles Blog and I’m featuring the set Noah’s Ark. I used the lion’s face without the mane and turned it into a bear! I stamped, coloured and fussy cut five of them and adhered them on to flags to create a fun Welcome Baby banner. After attaching the flags to the cloud background, I used charcoal baker’s twine to create little connectors which consist of double knots. They use the same concept shown in THIS post, about twine knot embellishments, except they are two knots side-by-side. Instead of trimming the ends off right against the knot, I left a bit of a fringe. Cute connectors? I think so. 😉

When my son saw this card, he just stared at it. Suddenly, he said, “Mommy! I want ice cream!” I burst out laughing. My husband came over and after a few seconds of absorbing the situation said, “Ah, the power of suggestion.” LOL

Have a wonderful Friday! I’ll be back this evening with another post.

  1. Gorgeous as always! Loving the background clouds, I'm really beginning to 'need' that stamp rather than just wanting it! Oh and I want ice cream now!! (not good considering it's only 7.30 in the morning here!)

  2. Ahhh, to see life thru the eyes of a three year old – Cute story!
Such a neat idea, and what a great way to get the most of your stamps. I have GOT to start thinking differently 🙂

  3. So adorable Emily and I love the Kraft cloud background too. The lion without his main makes a cute little bear and I can totally see where your son was coming from…he takes after you, seeing outside the box 🙂

  4. Damian is right–they do look like ice cream cones! The little bears are absolutely adorable. I love those connectors–they look really different. I love how you come up with new techniques! 🙂

  5. So cute! I never would have seen a bear in the lion–you are just too clever. I probably would have seen the ice cream, though, because mmmm, ice cream!

  6. What a fab way to connect the banners – always a challenge for me, and I'm never happy with what I work out. Must try this.
I love the stories you tell about your son. You almost make me miss those days when my kids were younger…almost 🙂
