I had to make three little girl birthday cards so I decided to make three with the same design. I thought these would be quick and easy but they weren’t. As you can see, I used designer paper from Echo Park’s Little Girl Collection. It’s so pretty! I no longer care about cutting into such beautiful paper but I’m never quite sure how to use it or if it even looks right. I know kits are made to make it easy to mix and match but sometimes I question whether they all match. LOL Regardless, these were fun for me to play with!
I started by choosing the base pattern for each card, the darker mat strips and finally the ‘fun’ strip. I cut out those papers and laid them out so I could decide what colours to use for the focal image, numbers, stitching and twine. The little princess, circle frame and sentiment are from Papertrey Ink’s Tiny Treats: Birthday and the die cut numbers representing the recipients’ age were made with By the Numbers. Once I coloured in the princesses with my Copics, I added some Diamond Stickles to the points in the crowns. I tied the twine before attaching the strip with foam tape. The numbers and circles are also popped with foam tape.
While I was blogging, I realized that I totally forgot to take photos of the individual cards in their entirety. Well, they’re already in the mailbox so better luck next time, eh? 😉 I hope you all have a wonderful start to your week! I have some catching up to do on all your blogs so maybe, just maybe, my blog will be a little quieter this week.
