I’m excited that I finally get to post this card! About a week ago, Unity Stamp Company had a Facebook request for cards made with the stamp set Boys Will Be Boys. I was lucky enough to own this set and only one of the sentiments had seen ink so I was happy for a reason to use it.

Using the colours from the Embellish Masculine Color Trends Challenge, I stamped a background with the polka dot beetle/bug. After choosing a sentiment, I cut a vertical strip of gray cardstock to provide a nice contrast to the sentiment. I added some charcoal twine from The Twinery, then adhered the double-layered sentiment with foam tape.

Normally, masculine cards are really hard for me to make but this one turned out to be extremely easy and fun. I have a few little boy birthday cards to make so this set will be getting a lot of use. I already have some ideas about how to work the rest of the stamps in this set so maybe easy masculine cards has more to do with having the right stamps than anything. 😉

  1. I love those dotty beetles and the font on the sentiment! I also like how the framing of the sentiment looks like a road sign. Very cute and now another set has been added to my wish list! 🙂

  2. Emily, You rocked the challenge…those little cars are adorable…a couple of years ago Marcel would have wanted to carry this card around…he loved cars…and has now moved on to Legos!

  4. This is such a fab boys card, and I love the black and white bakers twine – it reminds of a zebra crossing, not sure if you have them in Canada but they are crossing points on our roads, in black and white 🙂 Super fun card xx
