Last month, my wonderful friend Angela lost her sweet Marty and I’m ashamed to say that I only got around to making her a card now. I think she knows she has been in my thoughts this whole time. 🙂 All sympathy cards are difficult but especially ones for pets. I certainly don’t enjoy making them nor am I ever inspired to make them and that’s one of the reasons for the delay in producing this card. I combined stamps from three different companies to come up with this card.

  1. OH MY Gooooodness! This is a super cute card–for a sad occasion. I LOOOOOOVE how you used that flower/text stamp as a border. You are soooooo amazing! AMAZING! I know Angela will love this card!

  2. Aw, Em, you're the best — it's a beautiful card! So thoughtful of you, and so well-designed too (not a surprise, of course!)

Sympathy cards are always so tough — but they're also really, really appreciated, at least in this house!

    Thanks again, friend.

  3. Having to make pet sympathy cards *is* one of the hardest things to do. Then afterwards, Addison is always like, "why are you petting and hugging me so much? I need my space, dude."

But you made a perfect one for sweet Marty. That border is fantastic, and I like how you highlighted the two words in the sentiment. I'm sure Ang appreciated it!

  4. this card is so gorgeous! Did you color the cat too? Perfect! and the border is so sweet…

yup. Sympathy cards can be the toughest to make… sigh… but you did great. I'm sure your friend will love it! 🙂

  6. Beautiful job, Emily. It was worth the wait and I read somewhere that it's never too late to send a sympathy card, protocol-wise. So I'm sure she'll appreciate it…
    *smile*
