Hi, friends! I’m so happy to be joining My Favorite Things and their MFT & Friends feature for the June 2018 Release. The MFT design team is joined by several guest designers to inspire you with the new products!
To set the scene for the kitties and flowers, I stamped the Radiating Halftone Background and blended six distress inks across it to create a sunset. I used the same yellows and oranges for the hills, which were die cut with retired Scenic Safari border dies but Snow Drifts is an excellent alternative.
I used Copic markers to colour the images from Meow Mix and I used as much purple as possible, making all the flowers and butterflies purple, since that is my friend’s favourite colour.
I used warm earthy colours to colour the cats so they would complement the bright colours in the background. I adhered three of the images flat on the card base and the other three were popped up with foam tape for balance and visual interest. To finish, I used a clear Wink of Stella marker to add some shimmer to the butterflies.
