Today is National Panda Day and I couldn’t let it pass without sharing a panda card! Most of you know that I’m crazy about pandas and this adorable Dancin’ Birthday Panda is my new favourite! Did you also know that Spellbinders is now carrying 12×12″ patterned paper by Doodlebug? These rainbow packs come in so many prints and they’re so fun to play with.
I created this darling panda with Onyx, Snowdrift, Pink Sand and Gold Glitter cardstock. After assembling her, I cut the cute little bamboo car from Gnome Drive Holiday. Isn’t this the cutest pairing ever? I could hardly contain my excitement when I realized how well my little panda fit in this car!
I cut the car from the Grasshopper shade of Doodlebug‘s Gingham-Linen Rainbow Petite Prints 12×12″Cardstock but I also layered it on a piece of white cardstock for strength and sturdiness. I followed up by cutting the other parts of the car using Dill Pickle, Onyx, Snowdrift and Gold Glitter cardstock.
To create the background, I used the largest of the Essential Modern Ovals. I cut this oval from Snowdrift, Peridot, and Grasshopper, Beetle Black and Stone Gray from the Gingham-Linen Rainbow Petite Prints.
Next, I used the Color Block Scenic Scape Dies to cut the patterned papers and adhere them to the oval base. Then I offset the Peridot and Grasshopper ovals at the back. I die cut some clouds from On Cloud Nine, using vellum and Lily White gingham-linen. The tiny gold glitter hearts are from Sky View Pies.
Since the Essential Modern Ovals are 5.5″ tall, I wanted a bit more space so I cut this card base at 4.25×6″. To stamp the perfect sentiment from Monster Birthday Sentiments, I placed it in my MISTI stamping tool and curved it around the top left corner of the oval.
