I used four different stamp sets for my holiday card. The frames are from Holiday Messages and Tags, the animals are from Hipster Animals, the mason jar is from Hipster at Heart, and the snowflakes are from Holiday Animals.

Every stamped element was stamped with a pigment ink and heat embossed with various powders, including Hero Arts gold embossing powder and their new sparkle embossing powder for lots of sparkle and shine. Both the background and the Hipster Animals were watercoloured with distress inks.

Thanks so much for hopping with us! Be sure to leave a comment by 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on Sunday, Oct 30, 2016 for a chance to win one of four $25 shopping sprees to the Hero Arts Online Store. Now it’s time to head to Sue McRae’s blog for more inspiration and beauty!

  5. My first time on your blog, I love your video so easy to understand and I can see everything you are doing. The background with the snowflakes is my favorite and I can see this used with all sorts of stamps.

  6. Love the cute animal faces – a different approach to a holiday card. The gold embossing with the water coloring is perfect. Thanks for the wonderful ideas.

  7. Oh my gosh, so cute, darling, sweet, just outrageously fun. I never know what to do with these cute animals. You sure know your way around the animals. :))

SO fun to be hopping with you again.

  8. Emily, I appreciate that you are sharing your creativity. I enjoy seeing how you didn't limit yourself to one stamp set. Also, it seems you have a sense of humor with using the animals and that sentiment.
Thanks for letting me see your creative work.

  9. Super fun and cute card, love those hipster animals with the sparkling embossing powder, so festive! Oh so pretty background with the watercolor wash and the frames.

  10. What a fun card! I really like the contrast between the quirky, monochromatic animals and your soft, water-coloured background. The red hats really pop!

  11. I know I can use my distress inks for w/c, so why don't I ever think of that! I do love what happens when water and pigments mix! It never gets tiresome. For very tiny images like this, my favorite is a scribble of marker on a plate or scrap plastic picked up with a damp brush. I feel very artistic when I mix my own shades!!! Thank you for this very fun card.

  12. Great video, Emily! I'm so glad you shared your techniques for adding color to the images. Your card is absolutely charming, love it! So happy to be part another hostess hop!
