Hello, crafty friends! If you haven’t already heard about Kathy Racoosin’s 30 Day Colouring Challenge, now’s the time to jump in and play along! This is her fifth year hosting this super fun challenge and we’re already on Day 7. Just for fun, Kathy gathered her nearest and dearest Hero Arts friends and artists, plus a bunch of Hero Hostesses for today’s blog hop! If you’ve already started the hop, you should’ve arrived from Sarah Moerman‘s blog.

I created this card by partially inking the Tiny Star Background with VersaMark ink and heat embossing with Hero Arts white embossing powder. I added colour to the starry areas using Festive Berries, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron and Peacock Feathers distress inks.

Next, I coloured the heat embossed stars from Joy to the World and die cut them using the coordinating dies. I loved being able to use the stars on a non-holiday card.

I stamped the sentiment and postmark seal from Acts of Kindness. For the main sentiment, I used Versafine Onyx Black pigment ink and embossed it with ultra fine clear embossing powder. For the postmark seal, I used Versafine Smokey Gray pigment ink and embossed it with ultra fine clear embossing powder.

Finally, I attached the stars with foam tape and embellished with sequins from the Ocean Waves sequin mix. The colours work perfectly with the watercolours.

Hero Arts is generously giving away TWO $25 shopping sprees! All you have to do is leave a comment at every stop for your chance to win. Happy hopping!

Now it’s time to head over Kathy‘s blog for the last stop of the hop. Thanks so much for hopping with us!

  15. I love your card, Emily. Great coloring. Thanks so much for sharing with us AND for participating in this great hop and challenge and giveaway.

  16. I think the tiny star background with the dry embossing then the wet embossing filled by the light inking gives your card a beautiful effect that definitely deserves a try. It could be used with many different tiny/small pattern embossing folders for a simile effect. The whole card shows one how easily beautifully "seasonally" stamps can be used any time of the year with wonderful results! Love the colors, textures, and techniques used on your card!!!

  17. I love the design, and how you blended the elements together to create such a pretty soft effect! When you look closely there is a lot going on, but it doesn't look busy at all! Great job!

  18. Gorgeous as always Em! I love the colors and the way you incorporated the stars from the Christmas set…so clever. So fun to hop along with you! Hugs 🙂

  19. This is proof positive that letting the colors dry before adding too many layers is a good choice. I love the softness of the colors and the subtle stars in the background. The hint of bit brighter colors on the other elements makes everything work beautifully. I like all the white space in the center, too.

  20. Kathy is right, I love how you did the top and the bottom with color but not the whole card! Wow, that is something new for me! It looks like the post office post marked your card! LOL I love how that looks and how you used the stars from another set on this card. I don't always think to do that and I should. I have some star stencils from Dover that I have to start using.
I am so blown away by how clever and creative everyone was on the hop. My broken foot is so tired from all the hopping its done but I would have been so bummed if I couldn't see all the beautiful cards everyone has done. Now I just have to get as creative as you guys! I've posted some of my art work and cards on Kathy's blog if you want to have a look see. Thanks for letting me see yours!

  21. Ooooooo! I love this star card! This would be perfect for so many occasions! Thank you for all your inspiration! I have so enjoyed this hop with so many talented crafters.
