Today’s card features the Butterfly Duet dies, combined with a sentiment from Bosom Buddy. I coloured the butterflies with daubers and three distress inks. Then I sprayed water with a mister, allowing the colours to run together. After they dried, I splattered more water with my fingers for some resist areas.
Behind the front panel of the card, I used the Fringe Die with three layers of coloured vellum. I staggered the layers a bit so they would blend into each other, as well as the butterflies. Since I used Versafine Onyx Black pigment ink to stamp the sentiment, I heat embossed the words on the large butterfly with clear embossing powder.
Before adhering the layers together, I used a small brush and misted Black Soot Distress Ink on a craft sheet to splatter the butterflies, the card base and the front panel. To finish, I stamped flowers from Botanicals 1 and Botanicals 2, then added sparkling clear sequins and tiny pearls.
Thanks so much for stopping by! See you tomorrow for the Paper Smooches March DT Blog Hop!
